Do celtic pagans have a special name?

Like the Asatruars call themselves heathans. Also I read a site that says the reason they use that term is to remeber the christian conversions but to also seperate themselves from the from the hippie pagan image is that true?

Do celtic pagans have a special name?
I have heard practitioners of Senistrognata call themselves heathens, but usually just CRs or Celtic Reconstructionists.
Reply:The original Celtic Pagans were simply called Celts. Modern Celtic Pagans are called Celtic Reconstructionists, Druids, or Neo-druids.
Reply:Druids.
Reply:Druids are like Priests. Simply Celts or Celtic Recon (I was on that path for years). As for why Asatru use Heathen, I think it's also a cultural term, as well as a way to show that it isn't your normal modern Paganism (neither is Celtic Recon). But most modern Paganism, like Wicca, takes from the general ideas and uses them within their religion. Not a bad thing, but not the original either. Recon's work to bring back the actual beliefs and worship of our ancestors, rather than just picking what each individual likes and using it. Hence the need for a title that shows the difference. It would take forever to type out - Asatru/Germanic/Norse/Polytheist/Recon/P... Heathen just works a lot nicer. ;-)
