Reply:rock, raven, cruella, grayson, ebony, corey, xena, boris....

i wouldnt suggest anything the child will grow out of and you would be surprise how much you want a specific name and then when he or she makes entrance, the name doesn't fit.
Reply:Get a baby name book and look at the origins of the names, and circle all the ones that are old english or celtic. Then you can pick the ones you like from those. The books costs like 5-11 bucks. Its a good investment.
Reply:I actually like all of your ideas. Any of them sound great. I don't think I could come up with any better.

Unique, but easy, Irish / Celtic boys' names?

I'm trying to decide on a unique, but pronounceable, Irish/Celtic boys name. I don't like trendy or common names, but my last name is difficult, so the first name must be easy to say. My first son is Cormac.

What do you think of the following names? Or are there any you would suggest? These are my thoughts...

Tiernan

Larkin

Connor

Feminine Celtic Names?

I am in the process of writing a story.

The main character is Wiccan, female, and I would love for her to have a Celtic name.

Update RE: Your desire for the name to total the number 4, numerically...

Avalbane -Is both a Celtic "A" name, and it numerically reduces to the number 4; it's also rather original %26amp; unusual. And because it contains the word "bane", it has that particular Wiccan sound/feel to it, too, I think (ie. Names for several herbs used, including "dogbane", "fleabane", "henbane" %26amp; "wolf's bane", among others.).

______________________________________...

Some Celtic "A" Names:

Aine, Ailne, Alys, Aedin, Aislinn, Avalbane

Other Celtic Names:

Bhionn, Bree, Brigit (Brygid or Brighid); Cailean; Kesair, Keelta, Keenat, Kyna; Maer, Maeve, Mallaidh, Miren, Moina, Moira, Morgane, Morrigan, Muirgen; Rhoswen, Rhyanidd, Rionach, Rowena

Various possible Wiccan-ish "A" Names:

Abatwa, Aeval, Aisha, Akasha, Asrai, Abiona, Adalia, Adamina, Ailis, Airlia, Alanna, Alcina, Aldora, Alida, Alina, Alivia, Alleta, Althea, Aludra, Anais, Annika, Annora, Arianell, Aruna, Ashia, Aure, Aurora

Other Various Wiccan-ish Names:

Cindeigh, Dyan/Dyana/Diana, Edana, Ellyllyn, Evadne, Farica, Fetes, Freyja, Genevieve, Gwendolyn/Gwyndolyn, Hecate, Idalis, Iliana, Kalea, Katia, Kisha, Mavra, Rhiannon, Selene/Selena, Talia, Vesta, Willow, and Xandria

.: Happy writing, and much luck w/ your book! (Celtic AND Wiccan... That should be both interesting, and a lot of fun, to write.) :.
Reply:Alanna is a good name.
Reply:Ailis - (of noble kin)

OR

Ailsa - (named after a Scottish island)

Unfortunately I couldn't locate a name with the birth number that you asked for but I think these two are very feminine names that could work well.

Good luck with your story!

I always think choosing names for characters is the most fun and also important: they often hold a lot of meaning and need to fit the personality of your character.
