Feminine Celtic Names?

I am in the process of writing a story.

The main character is Wiccan, female, and I would love for her to have a Celtic name.

Perferably starting with the letter 'A.'

but other letters are fine too.

thanks much!

Update RE: Your desire for the name to total the number 4, numerically...

Avalbane -Is both a Celtic "A" name, and it numerically reduces to the number 4; it's also rather original %26amp; unusual. And because it contains the word "bane", it has that particular Wiccan sound/feel to it, too, I think (ie. Names for several herbs used, including "dogbane", "fleabane", "henbane" %26amp; "wolf's bane", among others.).

Reply:Alanna is a good name.
Reply:Ailis - (of noble kin)

OR

Ailsa - (named after a Scottish island)

Unfortunately I couldn't locate a name with the birth number that you asked for but I think these two are very feminine names that could work well.

Good luck with your story!

I always think choosing names for characters is the most fun and also important: they often hold a lot of meaning and need to fit the personality of your character.
